  • Seal appropriately using sanding sealer, spending a little extra time to seal the end grain, allow time to dry between coats and before next step

  • De-nib with a scouring pad or last grit used of sandpaper.

  • With lathe stationary apply enough Superior Grit - Original to cover the entire piece with a thin layer

  • Starting on slow speed, work Superior Grit - Original into the surface with a paper towel, gradually increasing the speed as it works its magic

  • Once you see, feel and hear that it has done its job, remove any residue

  • You have now achieved a finish equivalent to 1000 grit without the harmful dust in the air and no harmful chemicals or odor’s

  • After Superior Grit – Original, you can obtain an even finer surface with Superior Grit - Microfine abrasive paste.

  • Repeat the process above using Superior Grit - Microfine to create an even finer surface finish. Ideally suited to Epoxy and Acrylic composite materials and hard fine-grained woods, to a micromesh pad equivalent, without harmful dust in the air

  • Apply your wax or oil finish of choice

Note: This product is used to achieve a high grit equivalent surface on tight grain wood like ebony or rosewood and resin, it’s possible that if there are any inclusions or open areas, e.g. bark, some grit may get lodged in there, simply use a toothbrush to remove.
