The 1/2" (12.7mm) shafts are Grade 304 Stainless Steel with the corners machined to fit in a handle drilled to 5/8" x 3" (15.9mm x 76.2mm) – the size of the tang – and CNC-machined to fit the individual Nanograin Carbide Cutter.

  • As with all wood turning tools these nanograin carbide tools will provide years of service if treated with respect and care.  We recommend cutting at, or above centre; otherwise these tools may become too aggressive. Handle with care; sharp impacts will cause breakage of the carbide insert.

  • Always wear a dust mask, safety glasses and a face shield when turning.  Loose clothing, hair, and gloves should be well clear of the work area.
